In the heart of Santanyí, between the dazzling turquoise sea and the sun-kissed mountains, there’s a cultural asset that stands the test of time. In this corner of Mallorca, you’ll still find an ancient market, centuries-old olive trees, and traditional stone and lime villas that tell stories of bygone centuries. Here, in this vibrant and authentic setting, we took on the exciting challenge of renovating a Mallorcan possessió country house, without sacrificing the essence that made it unique.

That’s what makes this Mallorcan town special, and that’s what should never be lost. As a result, when we were commissioned to provide a former possessió country house in the area with cutting-edge amenities, we knew that — as a way of expressing our love for our island — we had to make sure that the property’s beautiful essence remained.

In fact, that was the biggest challenge related to this project. And on top of that, we had to add a completely new wing that blended harmoniously with the old country house, making everything an even greater challenge. But, once again, at Consfutur we found the solution like we know best: by combining state-of-the-art technology with a respectful approach to the tradition we know so well, inspired by local techniques and materials. These blend in perfectly with the environment and will retain the property’s authenticity forever.

That’s why — in this very sensitive project which seems to caress the building — we used natural stones and woods from Mallorca meticulously rendered with lime. We also added thatched roofs and rattan cupboard doors to provide the home with a natural soul that reflects a warm haven conducive to serenity and calm.

Each of the two residential units that now make up the property have been fitted with a kitchen, bedrooms, a day area with a fireplace, and a Turkish bath. Both are connected through a chill-out space with an indoor pool, which bolsters the atmosphere of enjoyment and disconnection in this stunning 438-square-metre possessió, in which we’ve integrated the best of tradition with all the facilities and innovations of modern luxury.

Outdoors, we couldn’t help but respect the poetic beauty of Santanyí’s rural landscape. We did this by creating a Mediterranean-inspired garden with a delicate, deep blue water feature that creates a sensual contrast with the surroundings and evokes the Arab origins of this island.
