ADAPTING TO THE NEW REGULATIONS IN HOUSING CONSTRUCTION IN MALLORCA: THE CONSFUTUR EXPERIENCE
June 25, 2024A MODERN VILLAGE HOUSE WHICH STILL BOASTS ITS TRADITIONAL CHARM
Providing maximum comfort in one of those charming, typical Mallorcan townhouses without losing a shred of its essence is not an easy task. But this is precisely what we have achieved in Ernest 17, a 200 square meter house (plus 50 of terraces) located in Felanitx.
To achieve this, the Consfutur team eliminated the old divisions of the house, creating open spaces and opening them to the warm Mallorcan natural light, which now floods each of the rooms.
In addition, we combined the use of traditional noble materials, such as natural ivory cream stone and oak wood, with others with a more modern look , but also pure and essential aesthetics, such as beige-tinted microcement. Exposed beams, artwork with an extra touch of design – like the one seen above the sensual fireplace – and simple and elegant furniture round off that feeling of peace and timelessness that manages to perfectly integrate the old and the new. This renovation in Mallorca has transformed Ernest 17 into a serene oasis, ideal for enjoying with the family.
The house, conceived as a serene private oasis to enjoy as a family, invites you to experience it with all five senses right from the entrance thanks to the unforgettable double-height staircase, with delicate and sinuous shapes. This is even more impressive in the afternoon, thanks to a studied professional use of lighting that gives it the prominence it deserves.
Also from the same hall you can perceive the preserved details which keep the authentic charm of this centuries-old construction. For example, the old arched wall that separates the entrance space from the living room-kitchen area, which grants access to the wonderful courtyard. This jewel needed a makeover, so we turned it into a beautiful garden with a pool to share moments with those closest to you, with an area reserved to set up the barbecue.
On the top floor, a living area that acts as an office when necessary, gives way to two bedrooms with access to the terrace and beautiful views of the garden. Thus, thanks to this typically Mallorcan distribution around the courtyard, intimacy and silence reign in the house, while enhancing the spaces that serve as a meeting point to enjoy with the family. This renovation in Mallorca, carried out by Consfutur, not only preserves the traditional charm of the house, but also adapts it to modern needs, making it a true refuge in the heart of Mallorca.
Ernest 17 is a living testimony to how a refurbishment in Mallorca can respect history and tradition, while offering all contemporary amenities. The combination of modern construction techniques with respect for materials and traditional design has made this house a unique place. Consfutur has shown that it is possible to update and renovate a Mallorcan village house without sacrificing its essence, creating a home which is crying out to lived in and enjoyed fully.
